I hadn't been to a Red Lobster in ages but I remembered the garlic butter biscuits. They are every bit as delicious as I remembered!! The seafood is good too! We got the 3 item shrimp deal plus a Caesar salad. The restaurant was crowded so we sat at the bar and got fantastic service. If you're looking for super fancy or gourmet, this isn't the place. But it's tasty food at a reasonable price.

Red Lobster has certainly been in the news lately and things are not looking good. But there are so many nostalgic things to love about Red Lobster from the tanks filled with their signature namesake, to the nautically themed interior that seems to come from a generation ago, and of course their legendary cheddar bay biscuits, let us celebrate what Red Lobster continues to give us even though our time with them may now be brief. I love that some things have never changed since they opened and expanded beyond belief in the 1980s, as here we are in the 2020s and Red Lobster is literally hanging on by a thread thanks to problematic corporate takeovers and questionable marketing tactics that have left this one proud franchise worse for wear. The fact that you can count on less than two hands the remaining number of Red Lobster franchises that exist throughout the Bay Area is all you need to know as they were once a prominent franchise with multiple locations throughout the region. So with recent news of Red Lobsters' woes and restaurants closing left and right, a group of three friends and I decided to head out on a recent weeknight evening to their San Bruno location. Located in a corner lot of the San Bruno Towne Center, this location of Red Lobster could literally be its own sedate, as nothing inside represents the nautical theming of generations ago. We made sure to make reservations online through their website, and although it wasn't crowded with many tables being empty, we were still placed in a dark corner of the restaurant near the kitchen as all of their window booths were taken. The menu at Red Lobster is separated into categories including Starters; Chowder, Salads & Bowls; Lobster; Shrimp; Crab; Sides; Signature Specialities & Feasts; Fish; Beef & Chicken; Daily Deals; Weekday Lunch Specials; and Desserts. Of course, being the modern foodie that I like to think that I am, I made sure to download the Red Lobster app and sign up for a membership for their My Lobster Rewards as upon initial sign-in upon a return visit they give you deals like 10 percent off of your total bill and a complimentary takeout version of their signature Cheddar Bay Biscuits. My fellow diners came for Daily Deal special for Wednesday, which for 28 dollars you would get their Steak & Lobster entrée, which was a Maine lobster tail paired with a seven ounce sirloin with the choice of one side, of which two people selected their baked potato and another selected their steamed broccoli. I ordered their Steak from the Beef & Chicken section of their menu, which was a seven ounce sirloin grilled with their signature seasoning, which came with two sides, of which I ordered their baked potato and orzo rice. I also noticed that they had Grilled Sea Scallops on their menu, and I asked our server Angelina if we could be served that dish first as sort of an appetizer and she said she would see, and low and behold, the first dish to come out was a skewer with five grilled sea scallops on it served on a bed of orzo rice. Perfectly prepared is the way to describe that first dish which was matched by our four entrées, which would come our shortly thereafter. I really loved my steak which was cooked medium rare to order and my fellow diners really loved the freshness of their Maine lobster tail when dipped in melted butter. Our meals, when combined with our side dishes made for one complete meal, especially when our server Angelina made sure to put a basket of freshly baked Cheddar Bay Biscuits on our table for us to enjoy twice over. When we were ready to pay our bill, I made sure to remind our server that I had two rewards that I wanted to redeem, not thinking that we would be able to utilize both of them for the same meal. So imagine my surprise when Angelina ran both rewards in their computer system and we were able to use them both at the same time, which led our final bill to be $117.16 before gratuity was added in, which for four entrées plus a fifth one and all you can eat biscuits, and an extra box of a dozen freshly baked biscuits to boot, it was a complete meal and then some for a reasonable price. I certainly hope that whatever financial challenges that the company that runs Red Lobster manages to succeed against them, as losing this once iconic franchise would be a true tragedy, as the evening we went we saw a ton of parties going on with graduates being able to enjoy their day, and what better way to describe the legacy of Red Lobster, where families and couples can enjoy a simple yet surprisingly fresh seafood meal without considerable cost to your wallet.

I haven't actually been to Red Lobster before, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The biscuits were, first of all, delicious. I've heard a lot about them, and I have to say they're worth the hype. My boyfriend and I got calamari and margarita flights to start. The drinks were weirdly watered down and tasted vaguely of medicine, and the reason this review is 4 rather than 5 stars. Do not recommend the margarita flight. I got nauseous halfway through and didn't finish my last drink. However, the food more than made up for it. The calamari was some of the best I've ever had, super juicy and tender but crispy and well seasoned. For the main we got the sirlon steak, lobster tail, mashed potatos, coconut shrimp, seasoned broccoli, and alfredo. Everything except for the alfredo was good; the sauce tasted really off for the alfredo. The steak was well cooked, the lobster was flavorful, and the coconut shrimp was truly a delight. The service was a bit slow because they were short on staff, but nothing too serious. We got all our food at a reasonable pace. All the people working there were super nice and it was a great casual atmosphere.
